A green throated carib hummingbird. We have them at Casa Clara Vista quite often.
If last week's Fun Feature had my sister-in-law, Kaila in mind-- this one is certainly a nod to my mother-in-law, Cheryl.
Sure, you can come to Puerto Rico and eat, drink and be merry-- but there are plenty of quiet (and educational) things to occupy your time here as well, and as a many generational birdwatcher myself, I find the Birding and Nature Tours of Gabriel Lugo particularly inviting.
Although his most recent tour was last week (March 4 thru March 8, 2020), he has new tours in Puerto Rico planned for November 18 thru November 22, and December 2 thru December 6, 2020-- not to mention forays into Cuba and the Dominican Republic as well as a Lesser Antilles Birding Cruise that will cover San Juan, Saint George, Bridgetown, Barbados, Castries, Fort de France, Roseau, Basseterre, Saint John, Tortola, and back to San Juan. Sounds pretty exciting.
As if this were not enough, Gabriel (who is a certified Puerto Rico guide), is more than happy to arrange private tours, and (like Casa Clara Vista) is amenable to working with cruise passengers before, after (or during) their port calls.
For more information you can check-out his website at http://birdingtourspr.com/, Email him at gabriel@gabriellugo.com, or call via (610) 787-9977. You can also check him out on Facebook.
Make sure you tell him you heard about him from ClaraVistaRevista.com and have a great adventure!!!
